Strategy

Hydras are a Slayer task assigned by Mortimer or Konar, with Mortimer being the preferred master for more frequent tasks and better rewards. Always bring ranged gear as hydras have high magic defence and are weak to ranged attacks. Use protection from magic or ranged, switching prayers as needed, and consider bringing a dragonbane weapon if not using the Twisted Bow. You must have Boots of stone, brimstone, or granite, or have completed the Elite Kourend & Kebos Diary to enter the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon where hydras are found. The Alchemical Hydra boss offers the best profit and collection log potential, while normal hydras have a higher chance for the Imbued Heart.
